Shaykh
Mohammad Akram Nadwi (UK)
Mohammad Akram Nadwi is from the Indian city of Lucknow.
He is a graduate of the world renowned Nadwatul 'Ulama
(India) where he studied and taught shari'ah.
Shaykh Akram is a Muhaddith of the highest calibre who
has specialised in 'Ilm ul Rijal [the study of the narrators
of Hadith]. He has Ijaza (licenses) from many of the most
renowned scholars of our time including Shaykh Abul Hasan
Ali Al-Nadwi, Shaykh Abdul-Fattah Abu Ghuddah and Shaykh
Yusuf Al-Qaradawi. He has a doctorate in Arabic Language
and has authored and translated over 20 titles on Fiqh,
Qur'an and Hadith including his monumental 40 volume work
on the lives of female scholars of Hadith. His scholastic
status is acknowledged internationally.
He is currently a research fellow at the Oxford Centre
for Islamic Studies, Oxford University.
Shaykh Akram is the author of Al-Fiqh Al-Islami, the first
book of its kind originally written in English covering
the Fiqh of the Hanifi School of Thought.

Shaykh
Abdallah Adhami (USA)
Shaykh Abdallah Adhami was born in Georgetown, Washington,
DC, of the noble lineage of the family of the Prophet
Muhammad, peace be upon him. He began his studies of shari'ah
at the age of eight, and heard his first scholarly narrative
in 1975. He earned scholarly licenses from many eminent
scholars from Damascus, Egypt and Morocco, and is honoured
with the unique and rare distinction of being a certified
narrator of hadith.
Shaykh Abdallah also holds a degree in architecture from
Pratt in New York City, and has seven years of international
corporate experience in the area of organizational development
and executive training.
Shaykh Abdallah has been serving the needs of the Muslim
community in North America for over twenty years. He is
currently working on a number of books, while pursuing
higher studies in jurisprudence and Qur'anic sciences.
His works centre on exploring the legal, ethical and spiritual
dimensions of the linguistic implications of shari'ah
texts. His works also strive to relate the eternal relevance
of the essence of shari'ah laws as a vehicle to enhance
modern lived experience.

Shaykh Ahmed Muhammad
Sa'ad (Egypt)
Shaykh Ahmed Muhammad Sa'ad committed to memory the entire
Qur'an at the tender age of 10 at the hands of his late
father, who was a scholar and studied traditional Islamic
sciences including Hadith, Tafseer, Fiqh and Tajweed.
Having joined the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Egypt
at the age of 12, where he spent 17 years acquiring traditional
Islamic sciences. He graduated from Al-Azhar whilst also
gaining the distinct honour of being awarded the certificate
for being the best student at Al-Azhar University for
two consecutive years. He has also studied 'Religious
Pluralism and Public Life' at the University of California,
Santa Barbara.
Shaykh Ahmed Sa'ad is a consultant and counsellor on the
"Ask About Islam" page on islamonline.net. He is also
an official Imam for Egypt's Ministry of Awqaaf (Religious
Endowments) and the executive manager of the Bridges Foundation.
Shaykh Ahmed Sa'ad has penned numerous research papers
and articles, including "Ethics of Difference", "Muslim
Minority Law", "Divorce Rates in North American Muslim
Community" and "Religion and its Role in the USA."
He has translated the Munajah of Imam Hasan Al-Banna and
Imam Nawawi's Adab al Alim wal Muta'allim.

Dr Azzam Tamimi (UK)
Dr Azzam Tamimi is originally from Hebron in occupied
Palestine. He is the director of the Institute of Islamic
Political Thought (IIPT), based in London. He has written
and edited several books and papers, namely Rachid Ghannouchi,
Democrat within Islamism; Power-Sharing in Islam; Islam
and Secularism in the Middle East and Hamas - the Unwritten
Chapters.
Dr Azzam Tamimi is an outspoken voice against corruption,
injustice and the occupation of Palestine. With a strong
grounding in shari'ah and modern-day academia, Dr Azzam
is a powerful lecturer and runs training programmes on
a range of issues for Muslims and non-Muslims.

Shaykh Yahya Hawwa
(Jordan)
Shaykh Yahya Hawwa was born in Syria, city of Hama 1976.
He grew up and received his education in Makkah in addition
to memorising the Qur'an. He was the Imam of Alkaloti
Mosque, one of the largest Mosque in Amman.
Shaykh Yahya is gifted with one of the most sweetest and
melodic recitations of the Qur'an for which he is well
known in the Middle East.
Besides being a Hafiz and an Imam, he is an accomplished
nasheed artist. He has written and performed for over seven years
and has released four albums. He is renowned in the Middle
East; especially Syria where he regularly appears
on television/satellite channels. |
